As students across Miami-Dade County return to the classroom, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) will have additional deputies deployed at Miami-Dade County Public Schools throughout the first days of the new school year.
Deputies assigned to the Priority Response Team (PRT), Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU), and the Community Affairs Bureau (CAB) will be present at schools throughout the county.
The increased presence is part of the Sheriff Rosie's ongoing commitment to protecting our children and ensuring that students begin the school year with confidence. Deputies will be assisting with traffic and pedestrian safety, and helping ensure a safe and secure environment for students, parents, and faculty.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office reminds parents, students, and motorists to remain alert, follow school-zone traffic laws, and exercise patience as everyone adjusts to increased traffic and activity around schools.
The safety of our students and school communities remains a top priority for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
