Cleaning House:  Employee Arrested for Theft of Valuables

MIAMI-DADE ( August 28, 2026 )– The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO), Village of Palmetto Bay Municipal District has arrested an individual responsible for stealing valuables in excess of $36,000.

According to investigators, the subject was a full-time employee who worked for the victim for over 10 years.  Over a period of time, the victim noticed she was missing certain valuable items to include watches, bracelets, necklaces, and other pieces of jewelry.  Through investigative means, detectives discovered the subject pawned 73 items between July 2018 - June 9th, 2025, in which 32 items have been confirmed to belong to the victim.  In addition, the subject provided the pawn shops her identification, home address, phone number, and place of employment. 

Detectives located the individual, Yuleidy Diaz, and after being interviewed, she was arrested and charged accordingly.
