Hit-And-Run Crash involving Two Juveniles Update#2
On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Northside District deputies responded to a reported hit-and-run crash in the area of Northwest 117th Street and Northwest 7th Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown driver was traveling northbound on Northwest 7th Avenue approaching Northwest 117th street. The driver made a left turn onto Northwest 117th Street and struck two juveniles that were travelling on Northwest 117th Street on a bike.
According to investigators, deputies located a male juvenile and a female juvenile lying on the roadway, both unresponsive. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) responded to the scene and transported both victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
MDSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives have assumed the investigation. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

At this time, we can confirm that the 10-year-old female victim from last night’s hit-and-run has succumbed to her injuries. At this time, we cannot provide the victim’s name due to Marsy’s exemption.

MDSO Traffic Homicide Unit (THU) Detectives have located the vehicle involved in the incident, and it is currently in our custody. No arrest has been made at this time. We are urging the driver involved to come forward and turn themselves in. If anyone has any information, please call Crimes Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
