Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Homicide Investigation UPDATE#1

Miami-Dade (October 22, 2026)- The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) Homicide Bureau is conducting a death investigation related to a shooting that occurred at a residence located on 15472 SW 148th St. 

MDSO deputies responded to the location and discovered a male and female with apparent gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at approximately 11:03 a.m., a verbal dispute ensued between the male and female which then led the male to produce a firearm and discharge the weapon striking the female. The male then used the firearm on himself.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and determined that the male was deceased. The female was transported to Jackson South Hospital in critical condition. 

MDSO Homicide investigators are working to determine the familial ties between the two individuals and what led to the incident. 

The investigation continues.
