Update #1: MDSO Investigating Shooting Involving Juvenile Male
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, at approximately 6:26 p.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) South District deputies responded to the area of SW 203 Street and 123 Avenue Drive regarding a reported shooting.
According to investigators, the juvenile male victim was seated inside an unknown vehicle with the subject when a heated verbal altercation occurred. The victim exited the vehicle, at which point the subject opened the vehicle door and fired several rounds in the victim’s direction, striking him in the lower extremities. The subject then fled the area in an unknown vehicle.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim by air to Jackson South Medical Center. The victim is currently listed in stable/critical condition.
MDSO General Investigations Unit (GIU) detectives have assumed the investigation.
